Life and register readings
The life of Yakub Efendi began in Pristina (Priştine) in 1875/76 (AH 1292). At about 16, in 1891/92, Yakub began work in Istanbul. The annual lists begin in 1891/92, with Yakub as Beyoğlu Telgrafhanesi stajyeri in Istanbul, where the entries run to 1895/96. Alongside, the lists for 1895/96 give a second post, in Damascus as Telgraf ve Posta Merkezi muhabere memuru. The last post was in Sahince in 1905/06. For 1899 to 1905 the lists have no entry.
