Life and register readings
The life of Mehmed Emin Efendi began in Mitrovica (Mitroviça) in 1850/51 (AH 1267); the father's occupation was "Ziraatçı". Mehmed Emin studied at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi).
At about 19, in 1870/71, Mehmed Emin began work in Thessaloniki (Selanik). The first annual entry, for 1870/71, names Mehmed Emin as Postane devamı, with no place. For 1872 to 1875 the lists have no entry. The lists give Infisal for 1871/72 and İstifa (resignation) for 1879/80 instead of a title.
