Life and register readings
The life of Mustafa Sabri Efendi began in Malatya in 1845/46 (AH 1262). Work began in Misir in 1871/72, at about 25. The first annual entry, for 1871/72, places Mustafa Sabri in Misir as bölükbaşı, where the entries run to 1878/79. Alongside, the lists for 1878 to 1880 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Yedinci Ordu Merkez Hastahanesi cenazecisi. At the same time, from 1879 to 1882, the lists also place Mustafa Sabri in Al Hudaydah (Hudeyde) as zabtiye bölük başçavuşu. The last entries, from 1882 to 1886, name Mustafa Sabri as muvakkat kol müşiri (aşar), with no place. The farthest post, Al Hudaydah, lay about 2,650 km from Malatya, and 48 of the 5,339 officials with a known birthplace and place of service served as far from the birthplace.
