Life and register readings
Born in Bursa in 1876/77 (AH 1293), Mahmud Celaleddin Efendi came from the İslam community; the father's occupation was "Asâkir-i şâhâne binbaşısı". Work began in Bursa in 1892/93, at about 16. The annual lists begin in 1892/93, with Mahmud Celaleddin as Mulazemet in Bursa, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1896/97. The lists have no entry for 1893 to 1896 and 1897 to 1899. The last entries, from 1899 to 1911, name Mahmud Celaleddin as Mıhalıç kalem-i mezkûr mukayyidliği, with no place. The lists give Infisal for 1909/10 instead of a title.
