Life and register readings
Mehmed Said Efendi was born in Bursa in 1853/54 (AH 1270), into the İslam community, and the father's occupation was "Harir tüccarı". Work began in 1871/72, at about 17. The first annual entry, for 1871/72, names Mehmed Said as Hüdâvendigâr vilâyeti mektubî kalemi (mülazemet), with no place, with a rise to a post in the office of the corresponding secretary (Mektubi Kalemi) in 1883/84. The lists have no entry for 1897 to 1899. The last post was in Mudanya in 1901/02.
