Life and register readings
İbrahim İzzet Bey was born in Istanbul in 1836/37 (AH 1252). At about 18, in 1854/55, İbrahim İzzet began work in Sarayi humayun, on a first salary of 100 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1854/55, places İbrahim İzzet in Sarayi humayun as Saray-ı Hümayun bekçi hademesi, where the entries run to 1876/77. Alongside, the lists for 1876 to 1878 give a second post, in Yıldız Palace as Yıldız Saray-ı Hümayun ikinci bekçisi.
