Life and register readings
Mehmed Cevad Efendi was born in Varna in 1874/75 (AH 1291); the father's occupation was "Ekmekçi". The first annual entry, for 1897/98, places Mehmed Cevad in Eceabat as Bidayet Mahkemesi ikinci kâtibi, where the entries run to 1908/09. Alongside, the lists for 1901 to 1903 give a second post, in Keşan as Ziraat Bankası Sandığı muhasebe kâtibi refakatı. In 1908/09 the lists place Mehmed Cevad in Ezine. In place of a title the lists give İstifa (resignation) for 1898/99.
