İbrahim Halim Efendi

İbrahim Halim Efendi was born in Germili, Çemişgezek in 1860/61 (AH 1277); the father's occupation was "Mazgird sancağı eski tahrirat müdürü". The schooling was at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi).

Work began in Mazgirt in 1880/81, at about 20, on a first salary of 300 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1880/81, with İbrahim Halim as Tahrirat müdür muavini in Mazgirt, where the entries run to 1887/88. Alongside, the lists for 1887 to 1896 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Meclis-i idare başkâtibi. At the same time, from 1890/91, the lists also place İbrahim Halim in Malatya as Meclis-i idare başkâtibi. The annual lists then follow İbrahim Halim back to Mazgirt from 1891 to 1893, then Kirkuk (Kerkük) from 1896 to 1899. Alongside, the lists for 1898 to 1901 give a second post, in Fizan as Tahrirat müdürü. Alongside, the lists for 1906/07 give a second post, in Havran as Tahrirat müdürü. In place of a title the lists give Mazuliyet for 1901/02.

Pay rose from 300 kuruş a month in 1880/81 to a peak of 1,350 in 1898/99, in Fizan, when nine in ten paid officials earned less. In all, 25 years of salary come to 201,444 kuruş, 1.7 times what an official on the median salary earned in those years. The last annual entry is for 1906/07.
