Life and register readings
The life of Mehmed Ziyaeddin Efendi began in Mecca (Mekke) in 1869/70 (AH 1286); the father's occupation was "Hicaz Vilayeti serkavası". The first annual entry, for 1886/87, names Mehmed Ziyaeddin as Hicaz Vilayeti Muhasebe Kalemi görevlisi, with no place. Mehmed Ziyaeddin then moved back to Mecca, the birthplace, from 1894 to 1896. Alongside, the lists for 1895 to 1910 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Hicaz Vilayeti Muhasebe Kalemi evamir mukayyidi.
