Life and register readings
Mehmet Tahir Bey was born in Sivas in 1841/42 (AH 1257) into the İslam community; the father's occupation was "Sivas vilayeti idare meclisi azası". The first salary was 200 kuruş a month. The annual lists begin in 1866/67, with Mehmet Tahir as Komisyon kâtibi in Sivas, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1872/73. The lists have no entry for 1867 to 1870 and 1873 to 1878.
