Life and register readings
The life of Osman Fevzi Efendi began in Sivas in 1837/38 (AH 1253). Work began in Samsun in 1862/63, at about 25, on a first salary of 250 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1862/63, places Osman Fevzi in Niksar as rüsumat katibi. Next came Zile from 1864 to 1868, with a rise to customs official (Rüsumat Memuru) in 1864/65, then a return to Sivas, the birthplace, from 1868 to 1871. The lists have no entry for 1871 to 1873. Osman Fevzi then moved to Terme from 1873 to 1881. The last post was in Izmir (İzmir) in 1882/83.
