Life and register readings
Hüseyin Hüsnü Efendi was born in Drama in 1859/60 (AH 1276) into the İslam community; the father was a muezzin. At about 16, in 1876/77, Hüseyin Hüsnü began work in Drama, on a first salary of 95 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1876/77, names Hüseyin Hüsnü as tahrirat kalemi defterci, with no place. The lists have no entry for 1879 to 1881. Alongside, the lists for 1878 to 1892 give a second post, in Eleftheroupoli as vergi katibi. Alongside, the lists for 1891 to 1901 give a second post, in a post with no place named as ağnam memuru.
