Life and register readings
The life of Mehmed Tevfik Efendi began in Gelibolu; the father's occupation was "Ketebe (kâtip)". The annual lists begin in 1876/77 (AH 1293), with Mehmed Tevfik as Merkez muhabere memuru in Feres (Ferecik). Next came a post with no place named from 1877 to 1885, then six places in 18 years, from Erzincan to Kırklareli, with a rise to Merkez muhabere memuru in 1888/89. For 1881 to 1884, 1889 to 1892 and 1897 to 1899 the lists have no entry. The last post was in Benghazi (Bingazi) in 1904/05. In place of a title the lists give Infisal for 1880/81 and 1903/04; Azil (dismissal) for 1903/04.
