Life and register readings

Kirkorisi Efendi was born in Bursa in 1862/63 (AH 1279) into the Hristiyan community. The schooling was at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi).

At about 27, in 1889/90, Kirkorisi began work in Mudanya, on a first salary of 250 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1889/90, places Kirkorisi in Mudanya as tuz anbarı me'muriyeti. Alongside, the lists for 1890 to 1901 give a second post, in a post with no place named as muharrirlik, with a rise to a post in the custody of the cash chest (Sandık Emaneti) in 1896/97 and to me'murluk in 1900/01. The lists have no entry for 1892 to 1896.

Pay rose from 250 kuruş a month in 1889/90 to a peak of 550 in 1900/01, when two in three paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1900/01.
