Life and register readings
The life of Mehmet Nuri Paşa began in Kütahya in 1849/50 (AH 1266); the father's occupation was "Kadı". Mehmet Nuri began work in 1872/73, at about 22. The first annual entry, for 1872/73, names Mehmet Nuri as Mülazım-ı sani, with no place. Alongside, the lists for 1879 to 1882 give a second post, in Istanbul as Berlin Sefareti ateşemiliteri (İnfisal). The last entries, from 1882 to 1892, name Mehmet Nuri as a district governor (Kaymakam), with no place.
The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 10,000 kuruş a month in 1890/91, when 98 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1891/92.
