Life and register readings
Nuri Bey was born in Istanbul in 1853/54 (AH 1270). Work began in Istanbul in 1869/70, at about 16. The annual lists begin in 1869/70, with Nuri as Mazbata Odası çırağı/mülazım and no place named. For 1871 to 1875 and 1880 to 1894 the lists have no entry. Nuri then moved to Mudanya, Mithymna (Molova), Drama, Mount Athos (Aynaroz) and Ahtopol (Ahtabolu), five places in 13 years. The lists have no entry for 1897 to 1901 and 1904 to 1907. Alongside, the lists for 1908/09 give a second post, in a post with no place named as a district governor (Kaymakam).
