Life and register readings
İsmail Hakkı Efendi was born in Bilecik in 1858/59 (AH 1275); the father's occupation was "Sıbyan mektebi muallimi". Work began in Bilecik in 1879/80, at about 21. The annual lists begin in 1879/80, with İsmail Hakkı as Gümrük İdaresi mülazemeti in Bilecik, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1881/82. Next came a post with no place named from 1883 to 1892. At the same time, from 1884 to 1886, the lists also place İsmail Hakkı in Osmaneli (Lefke) as Düyun-u Umumiye İdaresi su kitabet sandık eminliği.
