Life and register readings
The life of Mehmed Tahir Efendi (B) began in Varna in 1872/73 (AH 1289); the father's occupation was "Hüdavendigâr Vilayeti Defter-i Hakani İdaresi arazi yoklama memuru". The first annual entry, for 1890/91, names Mehmed Tahir (B) as Nüfus İdaresi kâtib-i evveli, with no place. At the same time, from 1896 to 1899, the lists also place Mehmed Tahir (B) in Bursa as Ziraat Bankası Şubesi muvazzaf mülazımı. Alongside, the lists for 1898/99 give a second post, in a post with no place named as Ziraat Bankası Sandığı muhasebe kâtibi. The lists give İstifa (resignation) for 1896/97 instead of a title.
