MUHAMMED REŞİD BEG was born in Kirkuk (Kerkük) in 1857/58 (AH 1274) into the İslam community. The schooling was at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi).
Work began in 1871/72, at about 14. The first annual entry, for 1871/72, places MUHAMMED REŞİD BEG in Kirkuk, the birthplace, as tahrirat kalemi mülazımı, where the entries run to 1880/81.
