Life#
Born in Ihtiman (İhtiman) in 1884/85 (AH 1302), Ahmed Hulusi Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a teacher (muallim). Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi); Ahmed Hulusi also held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
At about 16, in 1901/02, Ahmed Hulusi began work in Istanbul, with one unpaid year as a mülazım (apprentice) before a first salary of 50 kuruş. Every annual entry from 1902/03 to 1905/06 places Ahmed Hulusi in the same office, accounts office (Muhasebe Kalemi), in Istanbul.
