Life

Born in Istanbul in 1889/90 (AH 1307), Muhyiddin Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father's occupation was "karantina memuru". Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi).

At about 19, in 1909/10, Muhyiddin began work in Beyoğlu, paid from the start, on 200 kuruş a month. Every annual entry from 1909/10 to 1911/12 places Muhyiddin in the same post, official for foreign communications (Muhaberat-ı Ecnebiye Memuriyeti), in Beyoğlu.
