Life#
Ahmet Şükrü Efendi was born in Burdur in 1884/85 (AH 1302) into the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a director (müdür). Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi); Ahmet Şükrü also held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
Work began in Tokat in 1909/10, at about 24, paid from the start, on 200 kuruş a month. The annual lists begin in 1909/10, with Ahmet Şükrü as a communications official (Muhabere Memuru) in Gürün. In 1911 the lists place Ahmet Şükrü in Izmir (İzmir).
