Life#
Born in Almaya in 1848/49 (AH 1265), Albert Karol Efendi came from the Christian (Hristiyan) community, German (Alman) by nationality. Albert Karol had nine years of schooling, at a preparatory secondary school (İdadi Mektebi), knew five languages, English, French and Greek in writing and Greek (Rum) and Turkish in speech, and held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration). Few officials knew Greek; only 3 of the 5,211 officials did.
