Life#
Mehmet Lütfi Efendi was born in Istanbul in 1887/88 (AH 1305) into the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a farmer (çiftçi). Schooling took nine years, at the School of Industry (Sanayi Mektebi); Mehmet Lütfi also held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
