Life#
Abdülkerim Hüsnü Efendi was born in Milas in 1880/81 (AH 1298) into the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi); Abdülkerim Hüsnü also held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
Abdülkerim Hüsnü began work in Thessaloniki (Selanik) in 1896/97, at about 16, with four unpaid years as a mülazım (apprentice) before a first salary of 335 kuruş.
