Life

Born in Neapoli (Nasliç) in 1884/85 (AH 1302), Hadi Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a finance director (mal müdürü). Hadi had seven years of schooling, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi), and held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).

At about 18, in 1903/04, Hadi began work in Ioannina (Yanya), with three unpaid years as a mülazım (apprentice) before a first salary of 300 kuruş. Both annual entries, for 1906/07 and 1907/08, place Hadi in Louros (Loros) as a communications official (Muhabere Memuru).

The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 300 kuruş a month in 1906/07, as Muhabere Memuru in Louros, when one in four paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1907/08.
