Life#
İbrahim Feyzi Efendi was born in Neapoli (Nasliç) in 1873/74 (AH 1290) into the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi); İbrahim Feyzi also wrote Turkish and spoke Greek (Rum), and held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
At about 18, in 1891/92, İbrahim Feyzi began work in Sancaktepe, with two unpaid years as a mülazım (apprentice) before a first salary of 320 kuruş. The first annual entry, for 1893/94, places İbrahim Feyzi in Servia (Serfiçe) as a communications official (Muhabere Memuru). Next came Gjirokastër (Ergiri), Kopruboz and Ragor from 1894 to 1905, with a rise to director of the third grade (3. Müdür) in 1898/99. The last post was in Pogoni in 1905/06.
The salary went from 320 kuruş a month in 1893/94 to 600 in 1901/02, the peak, as 3. Müdür in Ragor, when two in three paid officials earned less. The last annual entry is for 1905/06.
