Life#
Ahmet Rüşdi Efendi was born in Aleppo (Halep) in 1879/80 (AH 1297) into the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a telegraph official (telgraf memuru). Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi); Ahmet Rüşdi also wrote Arabic as well as Turkish.
At about 23, in 1903/04, Ahmet Rüşdi began work in Antakya, paid from the start, on 300 kuruş a month. The annual lists begin in 1903/04, with Ahmet Rüşdi as a postal official (Posta Memuru) in Antakya. The last posts were in Kahramanmaraş (Maraş) from 1904 to 1906.
