Life#
İbrahim Seyfi Efendi was born in Istanbul in 1879/80 (AH 1297) into the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father's occupation was "Sevk Memuru". Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi); İbrahim Seyfi also held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
Work began in Istanbul in 1899/1900, at about 19, with two unpaid years as a mülazım (apprentice) before a first salary of 100 kuruş. Every annual entry from 1901/02 to 1905/06 places İbrahim Seyfi in the same post, letters official (Mekâtib Memuru), in Istanbul, the birthplace.
