Life#
This official was born in Aleppo (Halep) in 1874/75 (AH 1291) into the Armenian Christian (Ermeni) community. Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi).
At about 17, in 1891/92, the official began work in Aleppo, with one unpaid year as a mülazım (apprentice) before a first salary of 200 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1892/93, with the official as a communications official (Muhabere Memuru) in Aleppo, the birthplace, where the entries run to 1900/01. The last post was in Damascus (Şam) in 1901/02.
