Life#
Born in Lemnos (Limni) in 1888/89 (AH 1306), Hüseyin Ruhi Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Hüseyin Ruhi had seven years of schooling, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi), and wrote French, Greek (Rum) and Turkish.
At about 17, in 1906/07, Hüseyin Ruhi began work in Bitola (Manastır), paid from the start, on 250 kuruş a month. The first annual entry, for 1906/07, places Hüseyin Ruhi in Bitola as an official for foreign communications (Muhaberat-ı Ecnebiye Memuriyeti). The last post was in Thessaloniki (Selanik) in 1908/09.
