Life#
Mehmet Mersin Efendi was born in Gjirokastër (Ergiri) in 1881/82 (AH 1299), into the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi).
At about 22, in 1904/05, Mehmet Mersin began work in Gjirokastër, paid from the start, on 150 kuruş a month.
