Life#
Born in Tekirdağ in 1883/84 (AH 1301), Ali Rıza Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a telegraph director (telgraf müdürü). Ali Rıza had nine years of schooling, at a preparatory secondary school (İdadi Mektebi) and then a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi), wrote French as well as Turkish, and held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
Work began in Vize in 1903/04, at about 19, paid from the start, on 250 kuruş a month. The annual lists begin in 1903/04, with Ali Rıza as a communications official (Muhabere Memuru) in Vize. The last posts were in Zlatograd in 1905/06 and Tekirdağ, the birthplace, in 1906/07.
