Life#
Born in Giresun in 1859/60 (AH 1276), Mehmet Fuat Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi).
Mehmet Fuat began work in Giresun in 1881/82, at about 22. The first annual entry, for 1891/92, places Mehmet Fuat in Marmara Ereğlisi as a communications official (Muhabere Memuru), where the entries run to 1893/94. Next came Elazığ from 1894 to 1901. The last posts were in Beypazarı from 1902 to 1905.
Pay rose from 300 kuruş a month in 1891/92 to a peak of 500 in 1894/95, as Muhabere Memuru in Elazığ, when 46 per cent of paid officials earned less. The last annual entry is for 1904/05.
