Life

This official was born in Alanya (Alaiye) in 1884/85 (AH 1302), into the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Schooling took nine years, at a preparatory secondary school (İdadi Mektebi); the official also wrote French as well as Turkish and held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).

At about 19, in 1904/05, the official began work in Konya, with three unpaid years as a mülazım (apprentice) before a first salary of 200 kuruş. Both annual entries, for 1907/08 and 1908/09, place the official in Konya as a communications official (Muhabere Memuru).

The salary never rose above the first in the lists, 200 kuruş a month in 1907/08, as Muhabere Memuru in Konya, when 18 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1908/09.
