Life#
Born in Istanbul in 1886/87 (AH 1304), this official came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a customs official (rüsumat memuru). The official had seven years of schooling, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi), and wrote Arabic, French and Turkish.
At about 16, in 1903/04, the official began work in Jerusalem (Kudüs), paid from the start, on 150 kuruş a month. The annual lists begin in 1903/04, with the official as an official (Memur) in Jerusalem. The last posts were in Beirut (Beyrut) from 1904 to 1907 and Eskişehir in 1908/09.
