Life#
Born in Istanbul in 1846/47 (AH 1263), Ahmet Faik Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father's occupation was "Tuccarani Yigitbasi". Schooling took four years, at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi).
