Life#
Born in Istanbul in 1880/81 (AH 1298), Hafız İbrahim Edhem Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a tradesman (esnaf). İbrahim Edhem had nine years of schooling, at the Amire-i Idadi 2. Sanayi Alayi Mektebi, and held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
