Life#
Born in Istanbul in 1877/78 (AH 1294), Mustafa Fevzi Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a telegraph official (telgraf memuru). Mustafa Fevzi had four years of schooling, at a school for young children (Sıbyan Mektebi).
At about 16, in 1893/94, Mustafa Fevzi began work in Istanbul, paid from the start, on 237 kuruş a month. From the first annual entry, for 1893/94, to 1909/10, every annual entry places Mustafa Fevzi in the same post, central office official (Merkez Memuru), in Beyoğlu.
