Life#
This official was born in Shkodër (İşkodra) in 1868/69 (AH 1285), into the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi); the official also held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
At about 19, in 1887/88, the official began work in Shkodër, with two unpaid years as a mülazım (apprentice) before a first salary of 290 kuruş. The annual lists begin in 1889/90, with the official as a communications official (Muhabere Memuru) in Elbasan (İlbasan), where the entries run to 1894/95. Next came Zavric in 1895/96, then Niš (Niş) from 1896 to 1904. The last post was in Shkodër, the birthplace, in 1904/05, with a rise to director of the second grade (2. Müdür).
Pay rose from 290 kuruş a month in 1889/90 to a peak of 900 in 1904/05, as 2. Müdür in Shkodër, when 84 per cent of paid officials earned less. The final annual entry is for 1904/05.
