Life#
Selim Sabit Efendi was born in Ohrid (Ohri) in 1863/64 (AH 1280), into the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi).
At about 22, in 1885/86, Selim Sabit began work in Bitola (Manastır), paid from the start, on 285 kuruş a month. Every annual entry from 1885/86 to 1890/91 places Selim Sabit in the same post, communications official (Muhabere Memuru), in Bitola.
