Life#
Born in Istanbul in 1880/81 (AH 1298), SÜLEYMAN SIRRI EFENDİ came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community; the father was a tradesman (esnaf). Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi).
At about 19, in 1900/01, SÜLEYMAN SIRRI began work in Trabzon, paid from the start, on 200 kuruş a month.
