Hüseyin Hüsnü Efendi was born in Adana in 1874/75 (AH 1291), into the Muslim (Müslüman) community, and the father's occupation was "emekli". Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi); Hüseyin Hüsnü also held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
