Life#
Born in Istanbul in 1873/74 (AH 1290) into the Muslim (Müslüman) community, Mehmet Fuat Efendi was the child of a telegraph official (telgraf memuru). Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi).
Mehmet Fuat began work in 1890/91, at about 17, paid from the start, on 40 kuruş a month. Every annual entry from 1898/99 to 1905/06 places Mehmet Fuat in the same post, letters official (Mekâtib Memuru), in Istanbul, the birthplace.
