Life#
Hüseyin Avni Efendi was born in Istanbul in 1873/74 (AH 1290), into the Muslim (Müslüman) community, and the father's occupation was "Tufekci". Schooling took seven years, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi).
Work began in Kofcaz in 1900/01, at about 27, paid from the start, on 150 kuruş a month. Every annual entry from 1900/01 to 1906/07 places Hüseyin Avni in the same post, communications official (Muhabere Memuru), in Kofçaz.
