Life#
Born in Rhodes (Rodos) in 1868/69 (AH 1285), Mehmet Talat Efendi came from the Muslim (Müslüman) community. Mehmet Talat had seven years of schooling, at a middle school (Rüşdiye Mektebi), and held a qualification (a diploma, certificate, training or decoration).
Work began in Rhodes in 1895/96, at about 27, paid from the start, on 250 kuruş a month. The first annual entry, for 1895/96, places Mehmet Talat in Rhodes, the birthplace, as a communications official (Muhabere Memuru), where the entries run to 1901/02. The last posts were in Chios in 1902/03 and Ayvalık in 1903/04.
